The American Friends of the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra are delighted to share the news that soloists of the Orchestra will be returning to Carnegie Hall, New York, for a special performance as part of Carnegie Hall’s United in Sound: America at 250 festival.
OPO Assistant Concertmaster Lizzie Ball and soloists of the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra join pianist James Pearson in an exploration of the musical and personal connections between George Gerswhin and some of the most iconic composers and performers of the 20th century. Programme to include pieces by Piazzolla, Kreisler, Dvořák and selections from The Gershwin Songbook.
Order of events
3.00pm Concert in Zankel Hall
5.15pm Reception & light supper immediately following the concert in the Shorin Club & Rohatyn Room
This will include a short performance by James Pearson (Artistic Director at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club)
